Once we arrived at Kansai airport, I tried out my Hello Kitty Visit Japan app which inserts a different kitty sticker when you take photos in different parts of Japan. It works!!
After leaving our baggage at Granvia Osaka, we took a train to Namba なんば and had Okonomiyaki for lunch after which we headed to Namba Parks, an interesting shopping mall with an incorporated garden. It’s nice to just sit on the chairs provided in some parts of the building and look out at the unique architecture. I can imagine the view from Swissotel facing Namba Parks should be rather nice since it stands just right in front of Namba parks.
We walked toward Doguyasuji, my favorite street in Osaka that I blogged about here, from where I got Jia Ning her chawanmushi bowls and a cute My Melody apron =) Chris went straight to Bic Camera.
I walked to Bic Camera to meet Chris and was pleasantly surprised to see these cute characters.
I finally found the CP-filter for my lens size at Boc Camera!
We also walked to Dotonburi and Shinsaibashi 心斎橋 before heading back to the hotel. Dotonburi looks rather nice at night with all the lights from the buildings. A good place to hang out in the evening just before it turns dark is Ebisubashi where you can see river cruise boats go past and the colourful lights on the buildings. But both Dotonburi and Shinsaibashi are very crowded!
Dinner was a fabulous beef burger patty in a restaurant above Isetan and equally delicious waffle dessert.
We spotted a Singaporean restaurant which sells Chili crab and chicken "saty" (it should be "satay")!
Chris also bought a duck-billed hat to hide his disaster hair-cut haha. He had wanted his usual flat-top but the barber gave him a full GI!
And as usual, I can't resist Japanese breads =)
