Taiwan Sep 2014: Taipei Hotel - Palais de Chine 君品饭店

Conveniently located right beside Taipei Main Station (exit at Y5), this hotel is a good base for exploring Taipei and neighbouring towns. It is also beside a shopping center with food options, shopping and a supermarket (Marketplace). Offering luxurious comfort with great service, this French-style hotel has spacious rooms with heated Japanese style toilet seats with bidet, bath tub, rain shower and bath amenities with essential oils. The toilets are also fitted with sensor lights, which is great for those who tend to go to the bathroom at night.

We stayed in both the ordinary room and executive floor room because they upgraded us for some of the nights. Honestly, the only differences are the sensor lights for wardrobe and pantry, a dresser stool and mirrors near the ceiling for the executive floor. There is also a library at every executive floor. There should also be an executive lounge but our upgrade didn’t include access to the lounge so we can’t comment on the lounge. I feel that an ordinary room will suffice for most travellers (of cos if your company is paying, get the expensive one haha). The photos feature the executive room interior.

There are some very good cake shops at level B3 of the shopping center beside.

Mooncake festival themed cakes

We also had lunch at Kaifun in B3 that serves simple Chinese fare. Their cranberry vinegar drink is very nice and it’s free-flow!

Chris loves this fried mantou with condensed milk

The small glass is the complimentary cranberry vinegar drink that is very nice and is free-flow.
